A practice built on immigration law
Early years
Martin Fontes was born and raised in Nogales, Arizona. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of San Diego in 1997, playing football for the USD Toreros throughout his undergraduate career.
Law school and clerkships
He graduated from the Arizona State College of Law in 2004 and was admitted to the California Bar that same year. During law school he clerked for a private firm specializing in criminal law, and for the Honorable James A. Soto at the Santa Cruz County Superior Court of Arizona.
Building the firm
After law school, Mr. Fontes practiced as an immigration attorney at a private firm in Orange County for roughly two years. In 2006, he opened his own practice — the firm that became Fontes Law Group.
Thousands of cases litigated before the Executive Office for Immigration Review, and thousands of families represented before USCIS.
Admitted to practice
Mr. Fontes is admitted to practice before all California state courts. He is also admitted before the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
